PUBLIC NOTICE Freeport McMoRan Safford Inc. will host a public meeting from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019, at the Springhill Suites, 2855 W, US-70, Thatcher, Arizona to discuss groundwater usage at the Safford Mine. Freeport-McMoRan Safford staff will give a presentation at 3 p.m. During this time, information will be provided regarding the company's groundwater model, the program to mitigate modelled impacts of mine pumping on the Gila River, the monitoring program established to evaluate the performance of the groundwater model and adequacy of the mitigation measures, and current and planned operations at the Safford mine. Before and after the presentation, Freeport-McMoRan Safford staff, technical consultants, and representatives from the U.S Geological Survey will be available to answer questions and discuss the presentation materials.
