About
Metcalf Elementary School serves over 600 students in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Our small class sizes allow each individual student the opportunity to learn in a safe environment. Our students master literacy and mathematical skills through lessons that emphasize problem solving, research, and technology. Once basic skills are taught, students continue to persevere to conquer higher-level problems related to real world situations.
Teachers and students at Metcalf Elementary have access to innovative educational technology such as interactive whiteboards, document cameras, and a computer lab. Students in Kindergarten and First Grade utilized iPads in their classrooms. Students in Second through Fourth Grade use chrome books in a one to one environment. Because of this, teachers are able to differentiate instruction, motivate student learning, and increase technical expertise with our students.
In addition to standards based education, students at Metcalf Elementary are offered Computers, Library, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish. Reteach and Enrich, Title I Reading, and After School Tutoring are provided to increase student achievement. Students have opportunities to participate in Student Council and Cats in Action Leadership Club. Monthly assemblies focus on teaching character education traits that are retaught in the classroom throughout the year.
We believe that success starts at Metcalf Elementary School. With the help of all stakeholders, our goal is to actively work together to support student learning. Through this partnership, students develop a positive growth mindset that allows them to progress academically and socially. When they leave Metcalf Elementary, they have solid foundation to be a prosperous life-long learner. We invite you join us where we can challenge, enrich, and grow with your child.
